Summary
Dr. Lisa Lubsch and Dr. Morgan Taylor will conduct a 1-hour knowledge-based continuing education webinar program. They will discuss the wheezy truths about asthma management. Asthma treatment will be reviewed within three different hospital settings: the emergency department, pediatric intensive care unit, and general floor. A progressive case will be utilized to apply asthma management in each setting.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
1) Discuss the use of asthma ‘pathways’ for the emergency department
2) Evaluate the use of bronchodilators for management of acute pediatric asthma in the emergency department
3) Select the most appropriate corticosteroid for a child with an acute asthma exacerbation in the emergency department
4) Describe adjunctive therapies for acute pediatric asthma in the emergency department
Accreditation:
PPAG has accredited this knowledge-based webinar for 1.0 contact hours (0.10 CEUs) of continuing education credit for pharmacists. UAN #: 0180-0000-19-008-L01-P.
The Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. In order to receive credit, participants must register for the program, attend the program, and fill out a post-program survey. Webinar programs are 100% supported through program registration fees and PPAG membership dues, and is not supported by Industry.
BCPPS Recertification Credit is also available for PPAG members if you select that pricing option during registration. Participants will be required to complete an evaluation and pass an exam in order to receive their certificate. Once the exam is passed, participants will receive 1 hour BCPPS credit. Valid through January 7, 2020.
Group Pricing for CE only:
Group pricing is not available through online registration. Groups will need to email Lauren Henretty at lhenretty@pediatricpharmacy.org their attendance list with each participants name, email, NABP# and DOB in order to receive credit.
